Frugal February, Feeling Fabulous and Another Fun Ship

I know I usually post recipes on Monday but this weekend was pretty crazy and I didn’t cook anything new.  I made my favourite go to meal for dinner on Saturday night, Coconut Curry Spaghetti Squash.  It is delicious, as always.  I blogged the recipe on the old blog if anyone is interested in seeing it again I can arrange something.  I just wasn’t sure if there would be enough interest.  Then on Sunday, I was asked to make my chilli for the Super Bowl Day.  Which is a long winded way of saying, sorry but no recipe today.

Scott is a die hard Seahawks fan and was a little upset with the results. Most of the people with us were either Seahawks fans, just in it for the Katy Perry concert/Hunger Games tribute but there was one Pats fan there.  Of course.  After it was over we were all joking around and my sister in law asked what they do with all the Seahawks themed Superbowl champion stuff since they didn’t win.  She was naming examples like how the hats, shirts and confetti are now useless.  So what do they do with the confetti?  Apparently, my answer was a bit of a scandal according to my husband.  Trish however thought it was genius and tweeted it out.  Oops.   Just to clarify, although I would never consider myself a football fan I would have liked the Seahawks to win.

The Seahawks can use the unused confetti as tissue for Their tears …. #tabithacww …. U r the best !!

Wow, February already.  Man times flies.  New month, some new plans and such.  I think I will take some time here and catch us up a little.  With January being a thing of the past now, I am officially done my 3rd Whole 30.  I say that with a grain of salt.  Although, it is technically over I will be carrying forward with most of it for a little longer.  How long? I am not sure.  I am just going to take it a day a time.  I feel so good and I am so happy with the results that I don’t really want to stop.  I am actually not really missing anything I have cut out either.  Which I think is some sort of sign? The only exception to that is wine, of course.  So that I will guzzling back sipping on whenever I feel like it.  Oh, how I have missed it.  Especially, last week there were a few night when it really would have helped at the end of the day.  I am going to dub this extension my Wine 30.  Whole 30 but with wine. Probably mostly defeats the purpose but I figure the eating healthy part has to count for something.

I have decided to dub this month #FrugalFebruary.  After the last few months basically being a spending spree, I feel like a little self control is in order.  That picture is actually from a Vegas trip a couple years ago but you catch my drift.  So this will be a no extra spending month.  It is my first attempt at such a task in a very long time.  I love to buy things.  All. The. Things.  This needs to stop.  We have a lot of things on the Wanderlusting front going on right now and that we are planning for the next couple of…well forever, let’s get real.  I need to focus on more important things than owing all the lipsticks in all the lands.  Especially since we have two vacations already booked for this year. The first being that we will be heading to Disneyland in May.  Yippee.

Which brings me to another update.  If you follow me on social media you will already know this.  If you don’t, why not? Go over and click the sidebar links, follow and come back.  I promise, I will still be here.  We booked our anniversary vacation/family cruise on Saturday.  We will be sailing out of Galveston, Texas on the Carnival Magic.  I am super excited about this! I have wanted to go on this ship for a while now.  This cruise will be our 4th Carnival cruise and will move our VIFP status to gold. Which is cool but we still have many cruises to go to hit Platinum.  It is a blessing and a curse.  haha.  This itinerary looks awesome as well.

Have you been to any of these ports? Are you from the Houston or Galveston area? We are looking at staying a little longer to see some sights and I would love any suggestions.  I have spotted a couple that peaked my interest already such as Pleasure Pier in Galveston.
Have you ever done a spend free month? Any tips on making it through the withdrawals? I mean, if I can go a month without wine this should be a piece of cake in comparison.  Right? Just nod and smile.  wink wink
