last friday night

Wow, it is amazing how fast these weeks go by in the summer.  This was a short week with Monday being a holiday around here so of course it flew by at lightening speed.  I was also lucky enough to get Friday last week and this Tuesday off.  So my long weekend turned into a glorious 5 day mini vacay,  got to love that.

I must say that sometimes I am easily amused and last weekend was no exception.  I thought I would share with you some of the crazy things that caught my eye last weekend.

First off, last Friday night we had an amazing dinner at Cactus Club with my sister and her husband.  Man do I missed that place.  Of course there was wine.  An Okanagan based winery wine to be exact.  Delicious.    I had the always amazing veggie fajitas.  Scott had one of his favourite rice bowls.  A great time was had by all.

As we were leaving we needed to use the ladies room and this caught my eye.  Now I am not usually one to take pictures in the bathroom but I felt I needed to share this with someone and get the low down on why they felt the need to post it.  I mean, thanks for letting me know.  Does it make it any more legal because you put a sign up? I just don’t get it.

After dinner we decided to head to the liquor store to stock up on some long weekend must haves.  I found it hilarious that every bottle in the store had a little security tag on it.  This was definitely something I have never seen before.

Then there were these signs all over the store.  Excellent comparison guys. Kuddos, really.

On Saturday morning, I had to snap this selfie on our way out to a BBQ friends.  I used my sister’s new blow dryer that morning and was in love with it instantly.  Let’s just say I almost stuck it in my suitcase.  Target here I come.

What would sunny days and patio time be without a little sunburn? Sucks to be Scott.  Nothing quite as good a nice hat line.  Well, maybe my sister’s sunglasses that were almost permanently burnt on to her face the weekend before.

Lastly, we had a tradition of always showing up at our best friends houses with ice cream cake for any of their or their kids birthdays.  So what do I do? Head on over there on no one’s birthday in particular with this puppy.  I think I was remotely celebrating for a couple of cool Olsen babes that love Frozen as much as I do.

There was also this conversation going on after the cake was purchased between Scott and I….
Scott – I thought you were going to get a log cake?
Me – I was but then I saw this Frozen cake.
Scott – Ah, isn’t the log frozen too?
Me – No.  This one is Frozen.
Scott – Huh? It’s ice cream cake.  They are all frozen.
Me – Ya, obviously I know that.  This is Frozen like the movie.
Scott – Oh, I see.

I always get a kick out of the silliest things.  Take pleasure in the simply things.  How about you?
