Friday Favourites

It has been a long time since I linked up for Friday Favourites with the always amazing Amanda. I thought since I am getting back into the swing of things I should.

I had meant to post a weekend recap on Monday but time got away from me and I didn’t get around to it. I think today is as good a day as any to do that. Today’s faves are from last weekend then? Good, glad we agree. Let’s get started…

I worked on Saturday and then we just had a laid back night in with Mexican food, some Netflix and of course, wine.

On Sunday, since we are totally into the canning gig right now Scott made some amazing peach salsa. I tried to make it as hard as possible for him because I couldn’t stop shoving the those delicious little peach chunks in my face.

We have been spending quite a bit of time lately purging our stuff. We just have so much of it. With a heavy heart I went through my books and tried to be honest and part with the ones I really don’t ever plan to read again. Getting rid of books seems sacrilege but it needs to be done in order to simplify our lives.

Then we started on our storage unit. I wanted to be able to move some stuff from the house to the unit and there needed to be some purging in order to do that. I have a tendency to be overly sentimental about stuff so it was a bit of a process to let go of some stuff but there has to be reason once in a while. Right? Now I am sure you don’t need to see a picture of the inside of my storage unit so we will just move on to the highlight of the weekend and a small announcement?

We have been doing all this purging and re-organizing because my sister and her husband are moving up here! They will be staying with us probably until next spring or so when they find a place of their own. My sister finally got a transfer to our area at work.  We are all super excited to have all the siblings in one city now. We did mundane exciting chores like pick up new keys for them, arrange for move in and parking.

After such a productive day I rewarded myself with a glass of red wine, candles and a bath. I got a little kick out of watching The Little Mermaid in the bath tub. Silly girl.

There you have it. Sometimes even the most mundane things can turn into favourites. I know this weekend certainly did.
