A Sunny Okanagan Weekend

Another weekend come and gone. I don’t know about you but it was really good to me. I hope you can say the same thing. Most Mondays I post a recipe but I just didn’t get around to making anything much this weekend. Unless you count quickly going to Safeway grabbing a greek salad and a couscous salad and mixing them together for a super salad? No? I didn’t think so. In lieu of that, I thought I would tell you about my fabulous weekend. Yes? Good because I was going to do it anyway.
Friday night was date night.  We headed out to our favourite restaurant The Bufflehead. It is a pasta and tapas kind of place. They have excellent taste in wine there too. We decided to try a new one and we were not disappointed.  This one was a Viognier from Black Hills Estate. This wine is very crisp with a tropical fruity flavour to it. I don’t have the best palette for actually picking out what the flavours are and I didn’t ask Scott.  I do know that we both really liked it. After we wine and dined we went back to the house and watched The Imitation Game.
This Mac ‘n Cheese was so good let us go in for a close up….
On Saturday, I worked during the day. Then I went for a walk up the creek. Then I did some stretchy yoga type stuff in the field at the school on my way back.
Oh Sunday, you fun day! How I love you.  We had a lazy morning. Ate breakfast and drank coffee while watching HGTV.  Every time we watch that channel we find the need to move some more international. Or renovate houses we don’t have.  I can lose some serious time on that channel if I am not careful. House Hunters…..you devil you.
Once we finally got our butts in gear we headed out to a local winery. I love wine season. I took a lot of pictures while we were there. Thankfully, it wasn’t too busy and the girl pouring for us was a doll so I felt super comfortable taking as many as I wanted.  Which worked out well because I actually remembered to bring my big girl camera. I really haven’t used it a lot and I am still trying to figure it out.  Especially the new lens I got for Christmas.  Now that the weather is better and everything is beautiful I will definitely try to use it more.
These two pics are from my camera phone though.  I am planning a full post for the tour though.  So you will get to see all the fun we had.
After we finished up at the winery we headed over to my brother’s house to have some family time. Nothing says Sunday like sitting on the deck in the sun before an amazing family dinner. I heart Spring and Summer and all things hot. It is not quite warm enough for me to go in the pool yet. Although, I hear those nephews of mine have been in whether by accident or not.
That was a fabulous weekend in Spring in the sunny Okanagan. Sunscreen and all.  Hope you all had a fantastic weekend too!
