what happens on a fun ship

After all the waiting and then all the travelling, we were no longer #carnivalbound but actually aboard the Carnival Splendor.  We headed straight up to the Lido deck because everyone knows the Lido’s where it at even if the view sucks,  haha.  We decided to have some lunch in the sun while we waited for our rooms to be ready.  Got some grub and then most importantly hooked ourselves up with the Cheers drink program.  They raised the prices on this all you can drink program a few weeks before.  We had actually decided we were going to try a la carte but once we glanced at the guy selling the program all bets were off.  It turned out to be worth it in the end.  We definitely got our moneys worth.

After lunch we headed to our rooms to check them out.  Then decided to check out the boat.  Took the boys to the spray park.  Not sure if you can tell by the pictures hehe but they loved it.

Then the obligatory and boring muster station drill before we could finally set sail at 10pm.  I know it is for our safety.  Although, I did hear that other cruise lines are much better at this.  Maybe I should look into that? Or how about Carnival does it for me and makes the upgrades so I can keep on collecting those VIFP points.  Platinum gold status here we come.  Puerto Rico sure is pretty at night. The Splendor isn’t too shabby looking either.

We found a spot in the Atrium bar and continued to Cheers through the night.  This tiramisu martini is all that and then some.

That is how we spent our first day on the ship from what I remember at least.  Thank goodness for pictures.  It was sooooo worth the wait.
