the day that almost never ended

I figure it is about time to start posting about my actual vacation rather than just complaining about it being over.  I took about a bajillion pictures and I am pretty sure you want to see them all right? Ok, I will try not to every single one of them.  No promises.
We started off the day that almost never ended with a this little puddle jumper.  Seven of us hoped on this plane and headed from our small town to the big city to met up with my sister and her husband and catch a real plane.  The flight was just under an hour so it flew by clever i know.
We met up with Sabrina and Kevin in Vancouver and it was joyous.  Then we began the day of waiting.  We waited for 6 hours for our next flight.  It actually wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be.  We had lunch and shopped the duty free a bit.  Plus, there is countless hours of fun seeing what is going on outside the window.  Right, boys? And then we boarded! YAY!
This was the low point for me.  Another layover in Salt Lake City which was close to 4 hours and no coffee or a collector mug.  Disappointing SLC, disappointing.
After a power nap or two for some of us we finally boarded heading to JFK.  This makes my heart a little sad.  I don’t ever want to get off a plane in NY again if I am not going to see more than the inside of an airport potty.  We literally had enough time to use the washroom before we were re-boarded for the last leg of our trip.  We arrived in San Juan, PR about 11:30am local time.  Which means 10.5 hours in waiting rooms and approx 10 hours of flight time and we had finally arrived in the sun.
We pretty much dropped our bags in the hotel room and headed back out to get lunch.  We didn’t want to waste the only full day we had in San Juan.  By the time we got back down to the street it was pouring rain.  Torrential, ankle deep flooding in the streets raining.  My brother actually got a flash flood warning for the area from his iPhone weather app.  We headed out in a cab to lunch at Chilli’s.  It was exciting cause we had never been to one and wanted to try it out.  The place was nice but they definitely want you to eat their meat.  I survived but was a little disappointed.
Thankfully, the rain didn’t last long and after lunch we were able to walk around and explore.  I finally got my caffeine fix too.

Later on Scott and I went to dinner with his mom and then to the casino for a bit.  Everyone else was tired so they stayed behind. After we got to the casino we remembered it was Halloween.  There were some pretty interesting costumes and such things to see.  Unfortunately, they are very strict and no cameras allowed.  Then exhausted we headed to bed and dreamed of of all fruity drinks and melting cake we would be having soon. Then the day that almost never ended finally did.
